I’ve been through a lot lately and I can honestly say that every obstacle and struggle I’ve faced has led me to realize many things, but most importantly: self-worth depends on absolutely nothing but yourself. It doesn’t depend on how many guys or girls you’re talking to, how much sex you’re having, how many people know your name, how much you weigh, what sorority or fraternity you’re in, or how many followers you have. It depends solely on how amazing you think you are despite any of those meaningless outside factors. What are your morals? What do you believe in? What was your happiest moment, the moment you felt the most free? What makes you laugh? What keeps you up at night? What’re your favorite memories that you’ll never forget? What breaks your heart? What are the songs and books and quotes that speak to your soul? What inspires you? Where do you want to go? How do you want to help others? How do you plan to change the world? These are the things that might define you. These are the things that write the pages of your story. These are the things that make you uniquely you. Embrace who you were before you let a person or a number or a label or a status affect what you thought about yourself. Break free from the cycle of chasing false happiness. It will only leave you feeling disappointed and empty inside. Love yourself like you were 5 years old again…what advice would you give you? How would you nurture you? Wrap your arms around yourself and LOVE you for all your quirks and differences. You are all you have, and you are perfectly crafted and just enough.
